Sunday, August 15, 2010
The 34th Annual Billy Frost Concert for Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Memorytown USA in Mt. Pocono, PA. The Billy Frost Concert features live music, food, kid activities, raffles, prizes and fun for the whole family. Bands expected to perform include: Pocono Regional Pipes & Drums Corp., Sweet Charity, Who Knows, Gary Dillon, The Peoples & Moran Small Star Band, and much more. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15th – rain or shine – and will carry on into the evening until 9:00 p.m. Admission costs $5 per ticket, and children under the age of 12 years old are admitted for free.
All proceeds will sponsor SOPA’s Eastern Fall Sectional on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at East Stroudsburg University. Last year’s Billy Frost Concert raised more than $28,000 for SOPA’s Eastern Fall Sectional. The sectional hosts more than 600 athletes during a day of competition filled with an assortment of activities including on-hand athlete health care. Billy Frost Concert proceeds help to sponsor training, transportation, coaching, awards, equipment and travel for the Eastern Fall Sectional. Additionally, a portion of funds raised also assists athletes who participate in the SOPA, Monroe County Program.
